What Glue Should I Use?

As a paper crafter, I know how important good glue is. It’s literally what holds my projects together!

Today I’m talking about my favorite glues to use for paper crafting projects so the next time you're stuck you’ll know what to reach for!

My Favorite Glue: Art Glitter Dries Clear

Art Glitter Dries Clear is my go-to glue for everything in paper crafting.

I use it for

  • Cards

  • Die cuts and lasers

  • Scrapbooking

  • Embellishments

  • Mixed media

  • Altered art

My customers know it and love it, too. While we’ve mostly used this glue for paper crafting, it can also be used to bond metal, wood, plastic, and glass. The adhesive is a non-toxic, water-based glue. We sell the glue in 2 and 8oz refill bottles at paper & i. Keep in mind because the glue is water-based it can freeze. Be sure to keep it away from the cold.

So what makes Art Glitter Dries Clear so awesome? It’s in the name!

It dries clear, and it dries quickly. Plus, a little goes a long way. There is also a tiny metal tip accessory so you can get a fine line in small amounts. We sell this accessory at paper & i, too.

Want to see the glue in action? Be sure to watch the paper & i Facebook Live on Fridays or check out our archive. I use this glue at least once in almost every video!

Other Favorite Glues

I’m always testing out new glues to help my customers find the type that’s right for them. My recent favorites are the Gina K. Designs Connect Glue and the Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. Both available at paper & i.

The Gina K. Designs Connect Glue is a .5oz glue pen great for paper, embellishments, and felt. The glue applies white and dries clear.

The Lawn Fawn Glue Tube is also a .5oz pen-like applicator. Lawn Fawn recommends it specifically for paper crafting. This glue also dries clear.

Because of their shape, both of these glues are easy to travel with. They’re perfect for crafters on the go!

How to Preserve Your Glue

Nothing is worse than gunky, dried up glue stuck in the tip of your glue bottle.

Did you know there is a glue holder stand? Just put your glue-most any size into the stand upside down for storage. No more excessive squeezing or dried out tips. Just pick up your glue and it’s ready to use. We carry many colorful stands at paper & i.

Finding Your Glue

There are so many types of glue in the world, it can be hard to know what you’re looking for. Before you begin your search, identify what exactly the project is and who is going to use it. We carry lots of different glues at paper & i.

For your own paper crafting projects, you probably want a high-quality product that dries clear for a reasonable price.

For kids’ projects, an inexpensive, easily washable school glue like Elmer’s is probably the way to go.

If there’s one on the market that you use and love, keep using it!
